Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar- Regular Dining and Gluten Free Review

Happy holidays everyone! Today David and Maddie I headed over to Disney Springs to try Jock Lindsey’s for the first time. We’ve heard so many great things about it and with the special holiday makeover they gave it this year we knew we just had to make a trip and are so glad we did!

Thank you so much to Disney Springs for hosting us for this meal!

Jack Lindsey’s Hanger Bar is an Indiana Jones themed bar and restaurant serving shared appetizer plates and oh boy do I mean themed! Every inch of this space is filled with memorabilia, knick knacks, and little details. For the holidays this year Disney went one step farther and gave the entire place the most festive makeover you’ve ever seen. From tinsel garlands strung all over to wrapped presents, Santa figures, tons and tons of Christmas lights, and of course Christmas classics playing in the background, I don’t think even the North Pole has this much holiday spirit!

Along with the themed decor they also added a selection of holiday themed dishes and drinks to the menus. Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar- or Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar- as it is right now- has pages of creative cocktails in addition to appetizers that average around $13 a plate and are definitely sharable. David and I ordered two drinks and three plates and left absolutely stuffed, these plates are way bigger than we expected!

David and I started off by each trying a holiday themed cocktail. David got the Cinnamon Bells which had Knob Creek, Fireball, Frangelico, Cinnamon simple syrup, creamer and a gold sugar rim. I had the Santa Hat Mojito which had Bacardi, grenadine, mint leaves, simple syrup, and lemon lime foam. We both really liked our drinks and thought they were well balanced and interesting!

Allergy friend I’m happy to report Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar is fantastically gluten friendly! It seemed like most things (besides the pretzels and flatbreads) either were naturally non-gluten-containing or could easily be made gluten free! We tried three things that were all gluten free but also learned that both the sliders and the wings could also be safe (we didn’t ask about more than that but if there’s other things on the menu you’re interested in this is definitely a place I’d recommend talking to because they were so friendly and happy to talk things through!).

First up we had the Dr. Astorga’s Queso Fundito which was a skillet of melted cheese topped with fresh Pico de Gallo and served with corn tortilla chips. This was really tasty, the cheese was the perfect balance of melty and creamy and the peppers and pico topping added texture to the dip too. The chips were plentiful but honestly, we ended up asking for more chips for David because the pot of Queso is so much bigger than it looks haha! This dish was $12.50 but they also serve it for $8 during happy hour and David is 100% sure we’ll be back for that deal haha!

Next we had the Lomo Saltado Peruvian Flank Steak which was thinly sliced grilled flank steak with piquillo peppers, crispy potatoes and a and Yellow Pepper Aïoli. This was our favorite. The steak was well cooked, tender, and had a slight spice to it that was really interesting and delicious. Paired with the sauce this seemed like much better than $14 appetizer quality and we would definitely order it again.

We finished with another winner, the holiday special Holiday Caprese Wreath which had vine ripe tomatoes, heirloom cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, and balsamic glaze. We were both really impressed with the quality of the mozzarella, it was so fresh and soft and rich, I love mozzarella and this was one of the best I’ve had. The tomatoes were fresh and with the balsamic and the basil it’s a classic dish but we both agreed Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar’s version was significantly better than usual.

And that’s it! We had such a tasty afternoon and were thoroughly impressed with the quality and serving size of everything we tried. Disney Springs has always been one of my top dining destinations and Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar is going to be a new top recommendation for me! Even if you don’t know Indiana Jones well (honestly I really don’t know it much haha) the depth of theming here rivals Jungle Cruise (and I would even say is a step up from the Jungle Skipper Canteen) and if you come around the holidays the special holiday overlay is truly something not to be missed! The holiday menus and theming will be around until January 5 and I’m hoping will be back next year too!

I also want to wrap up saying I think the idea of giving a restaurant a holiday overlay is just phenomenal. Most restaurants decorate or put a tree up for the holidays but what the creative team did here is unlike anything else I’ve seen at Disney. It was exceptionally carried out both in the decor and the menus and I would truly love to see more of this all over Walt Disney World!

Have you been to Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar or seen the overlay? What do you think?
